Moreover, the DRV units are required to be self-righting with positive stability in scenarios such as a damaged wheelhouse and intact hull. The specified hull construction should be either marine-grade welded aluminum alloy or a composite sandwich, ranging between 18-22 meters in size. The hull and superstructure, including windows, doors, and hatches, must be designed and built to withstand the forces encountered during rough weather conditions (Sea State 7). To ensure an exceptionally high level of safety, the vessels must feature a propulsion system with waterjet and comply with IMO Tier III or an equivalent standard. The engines should be specifically designed to withstand capsizing events and achieve speeds exceeding 35 knots.
