Acquisition of 7 Danish Coastal Rescue Service (DCRS) rescue vessels

Dalo is currently in the process of renewing the Danish Coastal Rescue Service (DCRS) rescue vessels, with a focus on acquiring seven new Danish Rescue Vessels (DRV) as part of this renewal program. The tender for these seven DRV units emphasizes the incorporation of a proven hull design, adapted to ensure high-speed capabilities and superior sea-keeping performance. This entails the utilization of a well-established hull design as the foundational framework for the new rescue vessels. The selected design must be documented to serve as a robust basis for further collaboration with Dalo post-contract signing. It is crucial to note that innovative and unproven hull designs or entirely novel designs are explicitly excluded from the scope of this tender. The DRV units are intended for search and rescue operations in various weather conditions prevalent in the Kattegat and Baltic Sea regions, including high sea states of up to Douglas Sea Scale Sea State 7. These vessels are expected to be high-speed and efficient, exhibiting top-notch performance even in challenging sea conditions. Moreover, the DRV units are required to be self-righting with positive stability in scenarios such as a damaged wheelhouse and intact hull. The specified hull construction should be either marine-grade welded aluminum alloy or a composite sandwich, ranging between 18-22 meters in size. The hull and superstructure, including windows, doors, and hatches, must be designed and built to withstand the forces encountered during rough weather conditions (Sea State 7). To ensure an exceptionally high level of safety, the vessels must feature a propulsion system with waterjet and comply with IMO Tier III or an equivalent standard. The engines should be specifically designed to withstand capsizing events and achieve speeds exceeding 35 knots. The overall goal is to provide a safe, reliable, relevant, and modern working environment for the crews operating these vessels.
