India-based Bajel Projects Limited has secured two international contracts in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region for the construction of 500kV overhead transmission lines. The contracts, covering Lot 1 and Lot 5, fall under the ultra-mega category with a combined value of approximately ₹4 billion ($43 million).

The scope of work includes the development of two contiguous sections of high-voltage transmission infrastructure, forming part of a broader national grid reinforcement programme. The initiative aims to strengthen the region’s power transmission backbone and support reliable electricity supply amid rising industrial and economic demand.

Strengthening Power Infrastructure in MENA

The project is aligned with ongoing efforts across the MENA region to modernize grid infrastructure and improve power evacuation capabilities. High-voltage transmission networks play a critical role in ensuring efficient energy distribution, particularly as countries expand generation capacity and integrate renewable energy sources.

This contract win also reinforces Bajel Projects’ growing presence in the region, supported by its strategic joint venture with Saudi Arabia’s Al Sharif Group. The development signals continued investment in large-scale transmission projects, creating opportunities across engineering, procurement, construction, and supply chain segments.
