Bangladesh NCTB Approves 5.54 Crore Textbook Printing Contract for 2026
Last Modified: 3/23/2026
Bangladesh has approved major public procurement contracts for printing 5.54 crore (55.4 million) textbooks for the 2026 academic year. According to a report published on 15 October 2025, the NCTB’s Advisory Council Committee on Government Purchase cleared supply deals worth Tk 479 crore, covering the printing, binding, and delivery of textbooks for Class IX–X students. The initiative is part of the government’s long-standing commitment to provide free textbooks nationwide at the beginning of each academic year.
Work orders were expected to be issued shortly after the approval, enabling printing houses to begin production in time for distribution by January 1, 2026. This procurement marks one of the largest textbook-printing deals in South Asia in late 2025, reflecting Bangladesh’s continued investment in education access and its reliance on large-scale offset printing operations to support millions of learners across the country.
