HFCL Secures ₹10,159 Crore Global Deal for Optical Fiber Cables
Last Modified: 3/23/2026
By Team GoodTendersHomegrown telecom gear maker HFCL has achieved a major milestone by securing a multi-year contract worth approximately ₹10,159 crore from a global multinational corporation for the supply of high-quality optical fiber cables.
Spanning five years, the agreement will run from 2026 through December 2030. According to a regulatory filing, this is the first time in HFCL’s history that the company has entered into such a long-term, large-scale optical fiber cable (OFC) supply arrangement.
The total potential value of the contract over its tenure is estimated at around $1.10 billion, equivalent to about ₹10,159 crore based on prevailing selling prices of OFC products," the filing stated.
The customer has not been disclosed publicly. Under this contract, HFCL will deliver OFC products tailored to the client’s specifications through its overseas wholly owned subsidiary.
Only a select number of manufacturers worldwide possess the advanced technology, manufacturing precision, and production scale necessary for such complex OFC products. This engagement is expected to strengthen HFCL’s global competitive positioning and enhance its long-term growth outlook in the optical fiber market.
This deal highlights HFCL’s expanding global footprint and reinforces India’s capability in high-tech telecom infrastructure manufacturing.
