Global engineering giant KBR has secured a significant contract from Zallaf Exploration, Production and Refining of Oil and Gas Company to support the expansion of the South Refinery Project in Ubari, Southwest Libya. The deal covers the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) phases of the project and is expected to span 50 months.

KBR will provide comprehensive project management and technical services throughout the project, ensuring smooth execution across all EPC activities. This project further strengthens KBR’s long-standing presence in Libya, where it has successfully delivered landmark initiatives such as the Great Man-Made River Project.

The South Refinery expansion is a strategically important development for Libya’s downstream oil and gas infrastructure. Once completed, it will enhance the country’s refining capabilities and support its long-term energy goals.

The contract was officially awarded on March 18, 2026, marking another milestone for KBR in delivering complex and large-scale projects in the region.
