Larsen & Toubro Secures Major Grid EPC Orders Across India and Middle East
Last Modified: 3/23/2026
By Team GoodTendersLarsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a significant set of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) orders through its Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business, aimed at strengthening electricity grid infrastructure in India and the Middle East.
In India, L&T will undertake the design, supply, and construction of two 220 kV Gas Insulated Substations in the Durgapur–Raniganj–Asansol industrial belt in West Bengal. The project also includes transmission line segments equipped with advanced conductors and multi-circuit towers. These developments are expected to improve voltage stability and enhance the reliability of power supply for industrial and infrastructure growth in the region.
In the Middle East, the company has secured turnkey orders from key utilities for the construction of five substations along with more than 250 kilometers of transmission lines. Spread across three countries, these projects involve high-voltage systems of up to 500 kV. One of the projects also includes the installation of a 400 kV underground cable system.
With rising energy demand, evolving energy mix, and increasing focus on energy security, investments in grid infrastructure have become critical. These latest orders highlight continued confidence in L&T’s ability to deliver complex, large-scale power infrastructure projects with efficiency and reliability.
