Technip Energies, together with partners JGC Corporation and Samsung Heavy Industries, has secured an Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Commissioning (EPCIC) contract from Mozambique Rovuma Venture (MRV) for the Coral Norte Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) project offshore Mozambique.

The Coral Norte project is designed to produce approximately 3.6 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG), effectively doubling the Coral hub’s total production capacity to around 7 Mtpa. The development is expected to strengthen Mozambique’s position in the global LNG market and reinforce its role as one of Africa’s major LNG-producing countries.

Coral Norte to Build on Proven Coral Sul Development

Located in Mozambique’s offshore Area 4 gas block, the Coral Norte FLNG project is being developed by Eni and its partners CNPC, ENH, XRG, and KOGAS. The facility is designed as an enhanced replica of the Coral Sul FLNG project, the first offshore development in Mozambique’s Area 4 block.

According to Technip Energies, the replication strategy leverages the projects’ common feed gas composition and deepwater location, helping improve execution certainty while benefiting from engineering and integration lessons learned from the Coral Sul development.

By standardizing the project delivery model, Technip Energies and its partners aim to improve predictability and optimize performance throughout project execution.

Contract Value Exceeds €1 Billion

Technip Energies stated that the aggregated contract award exceeds €1 billion for the company and has been recorded in its Q2 2026 Project Delivery segment, highlighting the scale and strategic significance of the Coral Norte development.

The project represents a major expansion of offshore LNG infrastructure in Mozambique, supporting increased LNG production capacity and strengthening the country’s long-term export potential.
