Ultra Maritime Australia has secured a new contract from the Australian Department of Defence to supply Acoustic Device Countermeasure (ADC) units for the Royal Australian Navy. The agreement strengthens Australia’s maritime defence capabilities and builds on a long-standing partnership between Ultra Maritime and the Commonwealth of Australia in advanced naval protection systems.

The ADC systems are designed to improve torpedo defence by providing intelligent acoustic countermeasures capable of operating in complex underwater environments. These systems are widely used by naval forces globally to detect, disrupt, and defend against evolving undersea threats, supporting enhanced fleet survivability and operational readiness.

Strengthening Australia’s Maritime Defence Procurement

The latest contract complements Ultra Maritime’s recent selection to deliver the Surface Ship Torpedo Defence (SSTD) system for Australia’s Hunter-class frigates. Together, these programmes highlight Australia’s continued investment in naval modernization, maritime security technologies, and integrated undersea warfare capabilities.

The agreement also signals ongoing procurement opportunities across naval defence systems, acoustic technologies, ship protection equipment, and maritime security infrastructure. With growing focus on Indo-Pacific security, Australia’s defence modernization pipeline is expected to generate further opportunities in advanced marine and defence technologies.
